Terms of Service

Last updated: 31 August 2026

These terms govern use of VirtualRide, a browser service that plays Google Street View along cycling routes while a Bluetooth indoor trainer reports speed. By creating an account or paying, you agree to these terms.

The service

VirtualRide is for indoor training. It does not control your trainer’s resistance unless your device already does so. Street View images are provided by Google under Google’s terms. Coverage, camera heading, and image quality vary by road. We do not host Street View imagery on our servers.

Account and subscription

Access is limited to paying subscribers. The current price is USD $9 per month. On the web, Stripe includes a 7-day free trial, then bills you until you cancel. In the iOS app, Apple bills you through an auto-renewing in-app subscription until you cancel in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. You must be at least 18. Keep your password secret. You are responsible for the trainer, bicycle, and room you use.

iOS auto-renewing subscription

Product: VirtualRide Monthly. Length: one month. Price: USD $9.99, or the equivalent Apple localizes for your storefront. Web subscriptions include a 7-day free trial, then remain USD $9 via Stripe. Apple payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation. The Apple subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Acceptable use

Do not abuse Google Maps APIs, scrape imagery, share one login across a gym without a commercial deal, or try to break the service. We may suspend accounts that do.

Hardware and safety

Indoor cycling can cause injury. Use a trainer the manufacturer approves, a secure bike, and a clear space. VirtualRide is not a medical device. A browser with Web Bluetooth is required; iPhone and iPad use the VirtualRide app for a live trainer.

Third parties

Payments run on Stripe (web) or Apple In-App Purchase (iOS app). Maps and Street View run on Google Maps Platform. Their terms apply in addition to these.

Availability

We aim for uptime but do not guarantee it. We may change routes, features, or price with notice to the email on your account. Material price changes apply from the next renewal.

Liability

The service is provided as is. To the extent Finnish law allows, we are not liable for lost training, hardware damage, or indirect loss. Mandatory consumer rights in your country still apply.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Finland, without limiting rights you have as a consumer in your country of residence.
